Most of the wire saws need to be sharpened before leave the factory to expose the diamond particles, in this case the wire saw do not need to be sharpened again before use, it can quickly enter the sharp cutting state. There are also some wire saws that are not sharpen after they leave the factory, these wire saws must be sharpened before use. Wire ropes can be sharpened with ordinary refractory bricks, it should be noted that when using refractory bricks for sharpen treatment, cooling water should not pour on the refractory bricks directly, otherwise the refractory bricks will be quickly abraded, which will affect the sharpening effect and waste the refractory bricks. At the beginning of cutting, you can also use a line speed and feed rate that is 20% lower than the normal value as the cutting parameters to cut some soft stones to facilitate the sharpen of the diamond. Generally speaking, line speed of 20-21m/s is recommended for cutting granite wire saws, line speed of 26-28m/s is recommended for cutting marble wire saws. The best sharpen state is to touch the beads with the fingers, there is a feeling of scratching. After the bead sharpen successfully, the cutting parameters of the wire rope can be adjusted to the normal cutting state. There are some new wire saws, their beads have already sharpened, but their outer surface is cover by rubber and injection seal when manufacture. These wire saws can cut directly, but at the beginning, appropriately increase the line speed of the wire saws and reduce the feed speed. The rubber or plastic injection seal on the bead skin will be quickly removed, and then it can be cut according to the normal cutting parameters.
