Dry diamond polishing pads can efficiently complete the grinding process of granite, marble and other stones without adding water cooling. At present, the resin bonds used in diamond abrasive tools mainly include phenolic resin, polyimide resin and 11-10 black bakelite powder, etc. Phenolic resin, a white or light yellow translucent solid powder, easy to absorb moisture and agglomerate in the air, specific gravity 1.25g per cubic centimeter, soluble in alcohol and acetone. Polyimide resin is a dark yellow solid powder at room temperature. It can maintain good mechanical properties at 310-340 degrees Celsius. The density is 1.4g cubic centimeter. Strength 110Mpa is a new type of resin with good heat resistance. 11-10 Black bakelite powder is a compression molding powder made of phenolic resin as a binder, adding wood powder, mineral fillers and other additives through mixing, rolling, crushing and other processes. The hardener used in the resin bond is urotropine, the scientific name is hexamethylenetetramine, which is white crystalline powder or colorless and shiny crystal. Heating does not melt and sublimates, and at the same time partially decomposes. Its density is 1.27g per cubic centimeter, easy to absorb moisture and agglomerate, soluble in water and ethanol, the aqueous solution is alkaline. It decomposes into ammonia and formaldehyde under heating, which is irritating to the skin. It is a hardener for thermoplastic phenolic resins.
Dry diamond polishing pads are specialized tools used to polish surfaces made of stone, concrete, ceramic, and other hard materials. These pads are designed to work without water or any other liquid, making them ideal for use in situations where wet polishing is not possible or desirable.
Dry diamond polishing produces less mess than wet polishing. There is no need for water, which means there is no splatter or messy runoff that needs to be cleaned up. This makes dry diamond polishing ideal for use in environments where water could damage nearby surfaces or equipment.
Dry Diamond Polishing Pads – Professional Dust-Free Surface Polishing Tools
Dry diamond polishing pads are high-performance abrasive tools specifically engineered for polishing hard surfaces without the need for water or liquid coolants. These pads incorporate premium synthetic diamond grit bonded with a specially formulated resin that enables efficient dust-free polishing, reduced heat buildup, and reliable performance across a range of materials.
Dry diamond polishing pads are ideal for job sites where water use is restricted, interior space is limited, or quick cleanup is a priority. They provide consistent surface refinement and a high-gloss finish without the mess and infrastructure of wet polishing systems.
Key Features & Benefits
🧠 Advanced Dry Polishing Formulation
Unlike standard wet pads, dry diamond polishing pads are crafted with a resin and bond system that tolerates heat and high friction, making them ideal for dry surface polishing without water cooling.
💎 Premium Diamond Abrasives
Uniformly distributed diamond particles ensure stable abrasion, powerful material refinement, and a long service life even under challenging dry polishing conditions.
🌀 Multi-Grit Sequence for Progressive Polishing
Available in a range of grit sizes - from coarse to ultra-fine - these pads allow for step-by-step surface enhancement, from initial scratch removal to mirror-like luster.
📏 Flexible, Conforming Design
Dynamic pad construction adapts to flat surfaces, contours, edges, and profiles, ensuring consistent contact across uneven stone geometry for uniform polish results.
📦 Easy Installation & Replacement
Most dry diamond polishing pads come with hook-and-loop (Velcro) or soft-back attachment systems for quick changes and secure holding during operation.
Applications – Where Dry Polishing Shines
Dry diamond polishing pads deliver professional results across a wide range of materials and surface types:
Natural Stone: Granite, marble, limestone
Engineered Stone: Quartz and agglomerated stone
Concrete & Terrazzo: Decorative flooring and overlays
Masonry Surfaces: Brick, pavers, and architectural stone detail
They are commonly used in commercial flooring projects, renovation work, interior polishing, and on-site surface preparation where water use is restricted or cleanup must be minimized.

Dry vs Wet Diamond Polishing – When to Use Which
🔹 Dry Polishing Pads
✔ No water required - ideal for indoor and water-restricted environments
✔ Easier cleanup with dust extraction systems
✔ Faster setup for on-the-go polishing
✔ Suitable for quick surface touch-ups and detailing
🔹 Wet Polishing Pads
✔ Better cooling and longer pad life on dense stone
✔ Reduced airborne dust
✔ Often produces deeper gloss on large flat areas
Choosing the right method depends on project conditions, surface type, and equipment available.
Typical Grit Progression
A proper dry polishing sequence will follow a progressive grit path:
Coarse Grit (50–100): Remove deep scratches and flatten rough surfaces
Medium Grit (200–400): Refine surface texture
Fine Grit (800–1500): Prepare for high-gloss finish
Ultra-Fine Grit (3000+): Achieve mirror shine and refined surface brilliance
This structured approach ensures minimal surface defects and uniform finish quality.
Compatible Machines
Dry diamond polishing pads can be used with:
Hand-held angle grinders with dust shrouds
Orbital polishers with dust extraction
Floor polishing machines with vacuum attachment
Multi-head polishing tools
Always ensure compatibility of pad diameter, backing type, and machine RPM for optimal performance and safety.
