The hot-pressing sintering process is one of the most basic and important processes in the manufacture of diamond segments and plays a decisive role in the performance of the final product. The process of sintering is characterized by the bonding between powder particles, the volume shrinkage of the block matrix, the increase in strength, the decrease in porosity, and the increase in density. Thus, the agglomeration of powder particles becomes an agglomeration of crystal grains, so that the nodules can obtain the required physical properties and mechanical properties, such as strength, hardness, wear resistance, and the ability to be inlaid with diamonds, etc. Therefore, enough attention must be paid to the hot pressing sintering of the nodules, and the process regulations and operating regulations must be strictly followed.
The main points of the hot pressing sintering process of the diamond segment:
1.Select graphite molds, insulating pads, etc. according to the segment specifications, and check whether their dimensions meet the regulations.
2. Apply a coat of mold release agent to all contact surfaces of graphite mold and segment.
3. Assemble the graphite abrasive tool and the segment blank on the special die plate. It is required that the exposed steel die frame at both ends of the graphite indenter has approximately the same height and flows out of the optical temperature measuring hole. Tighten the screws in the length direction of the segment first, and then fasten the screws in the width direction, and tighten the screws evenly.
4. Check whether the straightness and flatness of the graphite electrode plate of the hot press are good. If it does not meet the requirements, it should be replaced immediately.
5. Adjust the temperature and pressure to automatically control the instrument, and set the holding time and cooling time.
6. Clean the segments, measure the size and weight.
